I did a swim a couple times with the Tri-Y group and it didn't really seem to show me anything I don't already know.

I considered a masters program earlier on, but the nearest is Brock U which is 30 mins from my house, and it just wasn't in the budget. I'm also not sure how 400m kick sets will do for me in triathlon.

Like I said, I don't have any regrets dropping the swim. I got better as a swimmer from the experience, and did 2 tris in the deal so it's out of my system. I'm happy running and biking, and mountain biking. :)

Have you considered joining a masters program (or similar) over the winter? Last year the swim was what I feared the most (and flat out sucked at). I was the third last one in off the swim on my first sprint. But after one season in a program it's actually become my favourite sport.

The redesign looks pretty nice, BTW.

Hey Ray-Sorry you are disappointed with the results. I know how hard you have trained-and that weather has not been your friend this spring during training OR on race day-I hate trying to fight the wind. A few thoughts-

Great job getting out there and finishing the thing!!!!!!!! As someone who had to pull out of a race I can tell you to please feel good about that accomplishment-and it IS an accomplishment. And also great job putting in all those training hours. You are a rock as far as I'm concerned in terms of your discipline around training!

There is NO WAY you can feel too bad about your results compared to last year if you are carrying 25 extra pounds. You can't overestimate the impact that can have on your speed. In that regard I think you should feel GREAT about what you accomplished with your speed. I hope the fact that you're not satisfied with it will just stoke your competitive fires.

Re: the hydration challenge-now this is interesting-seems like a bit of self sabotage. What do you think was really going on there???

It sounds like a very competitive race-I love all your data. Hope you can use it to energize and motivate going forward. You certainly inspire me-keep it up and good luck reaching and exceeding your goals moving forward!

Thanks for posting about a bod pod available in Ontario. I saw someone post about it in the US and I've always been curious. I might have to check that out.

Nice work by the way!
