Bod Pod Results – Test #2

Totally forgot to post the update for the 2nd Bod Pod test I did on my 11-week weigh-in, so here goes:

During my lunch break on March 25th, I went to Brock University in St. Catharines to get a 2nd Bod Pod test done to compare my results from my first test on Feb 8th.  Below are the tabulated results.

Feb 8 2010
Bod Pod
Mar 25 2010
Bod Pod
Difference
Time Frame 6.5 weeks
Weight(lbs) 217.6 lbs 200.9 lbs -16.7 lbs
Body Fat % 20.9% 14.9% -6.0%
Fat (lbs) 45.5 lbs 30.8 lbs -14.7 lbs
Lean Mass (lbs) 172.1 lbs 170.1 lbs -2 lbs

I plan to go again after this 12 week stretch. I have updated my goals which reflect numbers that will be from the Bod Pod test rather than my home scale, and OMRON BIA tester.

June 17th Goal:  Weigh 192 lbs @ 12% body fat or less based on Bod Pod test results #3.

Weigh-In: Feb 11, 2010

This weeks numbers:

Weight: 211.0 lbs (down -0.8 lbs from last)
Body Fat:
24.0% (down 0.0% from last week)
LBM:
160.4 lbs (down -0.4 lbs from last week)

I’m starting to think my little OMRON is messed up.  Apparently my BF has not changed, but I still dropped almost a pound, yet, I had to start using a new notch in my belt this week because the old one wasn’t holding my pants up properly.  Hopefully this is just a hydration glitch.

Body Composition Testing

BodPod Setup

I’ve always been curious to have my body composition test via an accurate method (water weighing, Bod Pod, etc) but could not find anywhere local….until today.

I did a Google search for “Bod Pod testing” and one of the results was an article from May 2009 that appeared in the Hamilton Spec newspaper.  It indicated that McMaster Univertisy has a Performance center with a Bod Pod, and that they do testing for the general public.  SCORE!

I called them up and I have an appointment on Monday Feb 8 @ 5:30 PM.  I’ll be bringing my OMRON Hand Held Body Fat tester with me.  Once I’m done in the Bod Pod, I’ll check with my OMRON to see what the difference is, then I can correlate between the 2 for future reference.

Currently, my OMRON is telling me around 24%.  I predict the BodPod will tell me around 26-27%.

Anyhow, I’ll report back on the experience & results Monday night. 8-)
