Things are still going very well.  Workouts are happening, diet is in check.  With that said, the metabolic resistance training sessions I’m doing, are the hardest workouts I’ve ever done in my life, including when I was run training for long races.

Here’s the workout I did yesterday; keep in mind, anytime there’s a barbell (BB) or dumbell (DB) exercise, the weight used is probably close to 85% of 1 RM – meaning heavy.

This workout took me just over 45 mins.  I was still struggling with “catching my breath” 30 mins afterwards.  Here’s the heart rate profile for this workout – you can clearly see the peaks and rest periods;


Yes, my heart rate is reaching high 170s, and I’ve had the feeling of nausea at the end of some of these cycles, especially towards the end.

The workout schedule for this is suppose to be Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Friday.  But until my conditioning improves, I’m doing them every other day.  I’m also throwing 1-2 days of run training in between those sessions.  I can’t wait for the weather to improve so I can take the bike out for some rides.
